Might enroll. $300 for a certificate that’ll probably net you a decent paying help desk job seems like a good deal. I know that what they teach is basic IT skills you could teach yourself in a month’s time, if not less, but the certificate is what’ll get you through the door. :francis:

Damn I really need IT brehs to tell me if this is something I should take serious.
I been wanting to get into IT and had no idea where to start.
This is legit. You won’t learn how to code, but you’ll be able to do what those Geek Squad technicians at Best Buy or the help desk techs you talk to when calling Dell or Microsoft for support do: virus removal, router configuration, database management, and etc.

It’s easy shyt that anyone with a brain and discipline can learn in a a few weeks, let alone 6 months. But cacs deliberately gatekeep the industry and usually only hire people who have certification (AAA, Cisco certified, etc.).

Do it. :francis:

Actually, it's not bad. You're basically learning the basics of the first 3 CompTIA certs without the bullshyt of CompTIA (recertifying, cost, difficulty of multiple tests)

I wouldn't be adverse to someone new doing this... especially if they're going to hook you up with an entry level job even if it is shytty ass helpdesk

Man I really wanna do this but I don't have the time or computer access now. Does anyone know how much she was making in the data center? It's the exact gig I want to land but I've never seen salary figures on it
