Nascar bans Confederate Flag

The way I understand it, the flag was bushed after the war. It didn’t come back into favor until the early 20th century with The Birth of a Nation and the rise of KKK. All these CaCs pretending it’s about southern pride are full of shyt; they know exactly what they’re doing with that flag.

I was thinking this too, they had to do something to attract more people to the sport cause even in 2020 it still has that reputation of being the "good 'ol boy, Klan, incest, hick convention".

Can I say the interesting thing about the confederate flag though is it symbolism. Why did the rebels take up the saltire, cross of Saint Andrew also known as crux decussata, on a red field as their flag. Look up the flag of British America or the Flag of the Hudson Bay Company and you'll notice the Red Field.

That cross is also connected to Saint Andrew of Scotland. And one of the founders of the KKK is Albert Pike the "Scottish" Rite Freemason and Confederate general. Curiously enough, ALbert Pike has a statue in DC.

Burning crosses was certainly a "scottish" rite on their ole homeland in Britain called Crann Tara. Scotland is also the home of what is claimed to be the oldest lodge of the Brotherhood which Pike was a member of.

And if its connected to Scotland and Saint Andrew, then the Calvinist Presbyterian Church comes to mind

Exactly.. No matter the sport you still have to somehow draw new people into your sport and demographic if you really want it to grow and stay competitive up against the other leagues. I never fukked with Nascar but I do remember when that shyt had a strong buzz and was on the rise. If this were any other league they would've brought in a black and/or a Latino driver just to at worst get some new eyeballs and different media outlets to the sport.

Yea like 93% of the drivers are from Cali and the north now, and they’re the ones winning all the titles. The best drivers are from Cali, Vegas, Jersey and Connecticut.That good ol’ boy from the south shyt been dead in nascar for 20 years

nah NASCAR been moved away from that redneck confederate shyt for a long ass time now. The reason why a lot of racist cacs don’t like it anymore is because NASCAR took away dates from a lot of tracks in the south, and gave those race dates to tracks in Phoenix, Cali, Delaware, Chicago, Michigan, New Hampshire & other places outside the south.

I’ve been watching the shyt since I was like 14 and I’m 31 now. They need to do a better job of marketing because folks still think the sport is full of southern Hicks and it’s one big KKK rally at the races. You’ll find just as many Asian, Hispanic and bruhs at the tracks now.

they have a diversity program that they’ve been running for the past 10 or so years. They’re training minorities and women from the time they are teens till they get advanced enough to drive the top level cars.

they’ve had a few Hispanic brehs at the top level. Juan Pablo Montoya came from IndyCar to compete for a while, and it’s a dude born who was born in Mexico that’s currently in the top level. Daniel Suarez. His English is good but he has a heavy Mexican accent.

And like I mentioned earlier, a black dude named Bubba Wallace is currently running in the top division who came up thru the diversity program and he’s running a Black Lives Matter car this week.

Typically when you lose a war, especially one is disgust you are relegated to not being able to wave your flag nor have statues of your heroes strewn about the land you rebelled against.

Sometimes I wonder if the South really lost, or if there was just a gentleman's agreement that ended the war.

You're forgetting that America was a racist nation then and is still one. Most people didn't give a fukk about the actual slaves, but wanted slavery ended for political reasons. Had they actually cared about black people, that flag would've been banned long ago, right after the war. I always say, look how Germany did with the nazi shyt, banned all that shyt. And it's because they gave a crap about the jews after the war and about the image they wanted to project.
