Damn this really brings me back. This was the first new Nas in a long time at that time. My sophomore year of HS, anxiously awaiting the GOAT. I remember the girl I was with, the clothes I was rocking, the shyt that i did at that time. This is one of those timeless joints for me.

I got a 3 month free trial with Apple just to listen to this album and cancelled Tidal for the time being. Tidal has a much cleaner interface but it's free so I won't complain.

i like the sample flip. not sure about the drums. i like he feel of the 808 bass but the drum pattern i'm not sure. i wonder if the same beat but with a slowed down drumbreak chops mixed with the 808 bass would have worked.
