I've always known vamp to have a lot of unreleased and rare material. I remember the poor quality original Curse snippet that was out and then vamp released the known CDQ version. Again, as a collector of rare Nas tracks, I always asked vamp about his rare Nas material. I'm cool with him not uppin the tracks if he doesn't want to but naturally, my next question to him was always "what do you have in the nas stash, by way of titles, that still remains unreleased or possibly unknown to the Nas fans"? There are plenty of rumoured tracks, especially from the Sony days. A few of the most notable unreleased Nas tracks are Crabs in a barrell, I am Somebody, Curse (Full), My Will (Full), Death Anniversary (3rd verse). I am certain there are more if you look back to the Rebel to America blog about his "Vaults" http://escobartheory.blogspot.com/2006/08/in-vaults.html
I hope some of these these tracks and more show up on his next installment for the Lost Tapes 2.

weve had the convo several times and i always say the same stuff lol
the irony is originally i wasnt aware of how much stuff i had overall not just nas material rare/unreleased until i had conversations with people online
i just had it and would play it for myself not realizing i had say mobb deep - if these walls could take original without j love
didnt even know that track was an issue people were hunting for without drops meanwhile i had it for YEARS in perfect quality just chillin at home lol so i eventually leaked that out many years back
always just had a ton of promos from labels back in the day which is how i had those versions literally just had promos on top of promos just layin around
thats how i had the curse snippet in CDQ
when the old sony forum was uppity about the curse but had no audio it peaked my interest then when thief ripped the casette audio even though it was bad quality once i heard it i was like ohh that song and i knew i had the i am promo layin around somewhere
so i had to look for it and eventually i came across it and ripped it like what a year later or so mind you it was rotting in my house among other promos lol
as for lost tapes 2 goes
hard to say a lot of those old tracks might be hard for clearance on samples or expensive and sony might not look at it as profitable due to the current state of retail sales
so some tracks may get altered production
years ago i put out the idea of him simply adding a bonus cd to a new album with lost tapes tracks or just bonus tracks period on a single disc of lost tapes cuts even if its say 3-4 cuts per album release just to get those records out
Good info vamp. You probably did tell me. Its been so long but a good collector never gives u on a trail to new and rarer spoils. It sucks about the samples clearances still being an issue. They didn't clear before, why would they clear now. Still there are lots of Nas tracks with original music and I am certain I can put a list of known, Sony era tracks with original music that could rival the first Lost Tapes. I am sure by now that you have checked all of the Nas promos material that you have so I guess its safe to say that you won't find anymore surprises in that stash. Not sure what your other sources may be like but I, myself am interested in the unreleased recordings and info surrounding Nas recordings and stuff.
