I went back down memory lane this evening listening to some of Nas unreleased music from the Columbia days. How! What the fukk!! The beats may sound dated for some but damn, the lyricism is still grade A. I wonder if we'll ever get CDQ versions and full versions of some of that shyt.
"High" is my shyt
"Understanding" is underrated
"True Dialect" WTF??
Honestly, Nas shyt doesn't just need CDQ versions on the web, it deserves official release. Although Nas was referring to Def Jam (in a song on TLT2) when he implied that they want to profit from his music when he dies, I know that Columbia is still sitting on a treasure trove of Nas music. Judging by the the rhyme in that song, Nas is aware and would prefer for his shyt to be heard while he is alive, even though his kids will still eat off of it regardless. I just wonder if Nas is going to ever dip into the Columbia vaults for his TLT series.
