Off-topic, but I would love nothing more than for Nas' next album to be executive produced by Rick Ross. And no, I'm not one of those Nas fans who thinks he picks bad beats, I just think Ross raps on the type of beats that fit Nas perfectly. That album would automatically be a classic. Don't mind me I'm daydreaming.

This album is underrated in a fishy way, :lupe:

Like there's a plot to undermine Nas that's not spoken about publicly or sumn. This album got even better over the last few weeks, shyt is easily a 4 or better, 4 may be low. People throwing around 3's and "it's at the bottom of his discography" or ignoring it completely, all that shyt seems spooky to me. I hope dudes aint still salty about Nas whippin that ass almost 20 years ago now and using their influence to sway "critics", smh, come on man.

Or maybe people heard it was just a bunch of throwaway joints that weren't ever used because Nas didn't think they were good enough...so that turned them off, who knows. Album is fire tho, fukk em.

Dog I said the same thing.. It's weird
how little support he got from the industry
for this project.. A general consensus top 5 Goat
just dropped the sequel to a classic and folks are acting like
it doesn't exist.. The industry always acts weird when it comes
to him lol

I think it’s cuz he didn’t have a real rollout for the album

This isn’t the type of album you have a real rollout for anyway

It would be weird

Compilations of unreleased songs are more like collectors items

You can’t expect the media to treat it like they would a normal album release

If Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye, Drake, J.Cole, Kendrick, Meek Mill etc drop a Lost Tapes
it would get all the attention in the world.. If a top 5 Goat can't get acknowledge and respect
on a release 25 years deep into the game this art form needs to be burned down and start
over. Respect the Legends and Goats! Celebrate them..

Nah I don’t think they it would get as much media coverage as their normal releases

Unless those artists really went hard with promotion

And I doubt they would

Nah it’s real weird especially considering how everyone was acting when he announced the project. U had all kinda celebs and media in his comments. All kinda shyt. Old school to new school. shyt dropped and it’s crickets for the most part. Not positive or negative. Just silence.

They wouldn't get as much as their official
album but each of them would get 10x what
Nas is getting right now.

Every rapper you mentioned is far more relevant than Nas in 2019. I just don't understand the continued anger over reviews and the general "whatever" response the album has gotten from rap media. What do you expect? The album isn't even for them...it's for Nas fans. And Nas fans seem pretty happy with the album, so why get bent out of shape because the media, twitter, etc didn't really react to it. Those days are over.

Nas has spent most of his career ignoring rap media. It's not surprising that they return the favor now. With Nasir the only interview I remember was with Angie Martinez, and it was weeks after the album came out. With this album he did Drink Champs and a Tidal interview. Earlier this year he did a (dope) interview with Bobbito. Nas is at a point where he's only doing interviews with people he respects. Could he have benefited from doing The Breakfast Club, Hot 97, etc? Of course. But...he doesn't care. So why do you care that those people aren't giving the album free promo?

I've been saying this same thing over the past few weeks. There is an effort in the hip hop media to down play nas legacy and an attempt to weaken his current musical spot. It's really come from various angles too. I 100% notice it and I have been saying it. Nobody cant tell me it's not facts either.

We are just speaking on what we are seeing. Everytime I hear somebody bring up nas in interview, somebody will mention something negative. It's been a trend that I've personally been seeing.

One thing I will agree with u on is him not playing the game
has definitely affected how the media holds him down..
It's almost like word has got out that Nas personally doesn't mess with
any of u cats lol
