Billboard now has an article on the pic Timbaland posted:

This past weekend, a bevy of stars linked up in New Orleans for this year's Essence Festival. Among the celebrities in attendance were some of rap's brightest luminaries in Nas, Timbaland, and Pharrell, who were spotted together in a photo posted by Timbo on Tuesday (July 9).

"Should we get in the studio?" teased the super producer on Twitter.

Nas is set to release his forthcoming project Lost Tapes 2, which will feature an array of esteemed producers including the likes of Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, No I.D., Hit-Boy and Pharrell, who produced the second track "Vernon Family." Pharrell and Nas teamed up back in 2003 for "Flyest Angels." The song appeared on the Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack.

In 2015, Timbaland teased a snippet of an unreleased Nas track on Facebook, but the song has yet to surface in its entirety. Timbo and Nas previously worked together on several songs, most notably 1998's "You Owe Me," and 1999's "You Won't See Me Tonight."

Timbo has been busy himself, as he recently had his handprints on Tee Grizzley's Scripturesalbum, executive producing the project. The album spawned several scorching singles in "God's Warrior" and "Sweet Thangs."

Timbaland Shares Pic With Nas and Pharrell, Hints They'll Get in the Studio
Daps on the article but keep Timbo away from Nas. Timbo already fukked up 2 albums for Jay between Blueprint 3 and MCHG. Timbo is one of the GOATs but he's past his prime and there are so many producers I'd rather hear Nas link with in 2019.

AZ>>>>>Bravehearts on any track. Not even a debate for me.
For sure. Anyone taking them and Nas over AZ and Nas is crazy. An album between Nas and AZ is a top 5 'should've happened' albums of all time.

EDIT: Wow someone did.
:ohhh:
Okay. I mean there can't be many others though I wouldn't think.

I’d keep Timbo in mind for radio track type of shyt only but I wouldn’t pull the trigger on it unless I was truly convinced it was something special. Other than that though, I could do without Tim on a Nas album.

I wholeheartedly disagree on this. Why? Timbaland and Pharrell are perfectly capable of delivering classic Nas songs. I will go out on a limb and say this 15 second snippet:

That snippet >>>>>>> Nasir. And just from what is heard of the beat and how Nas is interacting with it, it sounds like it would be a top shelf song on any Nas album.

Many say, RZA and Premo are past their primes, but still want Nas to work with them and RZA's on the Lost Tapes 2 TWICE. I don't agree with the sentiment because we haven't heard the songs and for all we know, RZA may have given Nas classics. Its bias because people are also questioning the Pharrell and Hitboy songs without hearing them.

Don’t get me wrong, Nas flowing over a more uptempo beat is dope. He usually kills those beats. This snippet, to me, is just that. It’s nothing special. This same lyrics over the Echo beat was special and most peeps in this board would probably agree. Tim can provide Nas with a radio or popular music banger but the trapped in the 90’s heads want to hear him over more Illmatic type of shyt. Tim doesn’t do that toe of hip hop. Besides, I’m sure Tim submits tons of beats to Nas. If there was something truly special, I’m sure he would’ve kept it and used it. If there was something truly special about what he did with Nas after LIG, Hip Hop since 1978 would’ve kept it. Whose to say that there isn’t one Nas/Timbo track loaded and ready for the next album?

Also, there's the fact Nas brings a certain sound out of producers because they cater to him. "Trust" doesn't sound like the typical Boi-1da track. Yet, when some Nas fans saw Boi-1da had a track on LIG, they immediately assumed it would be some Drake sounding throwaway, yet it's one of the best songs on the album.

You got Large Professor saying Timbaland did some crazy tracks for Nas, which is high praise from him given how critical he is of Nas's past work with Tim. Large Professor was even critical of "One Mic" in that same interview.

Y’all nikkas know me. I want to see ALL NaS music officially released, from the worst to the best. It doesn’t even really matter who produces it. I want to hear what the god has to say first and foremost and whenever he can spit it over a dope ass track that I like, that’s a bonus.

Timbaland is more than just a radio song and that snippet is evidence of that. It sounds more promising than "Echo".

The "trapped in the '90's" heads are still stuck in the past and clearly Nas is forward moving even though he does give is those throwbacks. It's the same mentality 90's heads had towards IWW and that's one of his best albums.

I doubt Tim submits beats to Nas. They've actually been in the studio. Given Hip Hop Since 1978's track record, it's highly likely whatever Tom and Nas did winds up on an album (if Hip Hop is still A&R of the album). He started with Jay during the Vol. 3 album and it ended up with 4 Timbo tracks (including "Big Pimpin").

Exactly. nikkas till this day care about names vs how the music sounds when it comes to Nas production. For instance. “Trust” was produced by Boi1da and it sounds like a fukkin Lost Tapes track.

This.

I mean, outside of L.E.S., Kanye and Rockwilder, the first Lost Tapes had producers who weren't really known and the quality of the work is on par with Nas's best.

I think all the hate that Salaam Remi gets is because his name isn't Premo or whatever other producer people want him to work with.

Alchemist is on Lost Tapes as well. But this is all facts.

Yeah I forgot Alchemist.

And the thing that gets me about the Salaam hate is that he actually did what even GOAT level producers like Premo couldn't do for Nas: he gave Nas a street banger with "Made You Look" that was anthemic, but it was also commercially successful. This is overlooked, but a lot of Nas fans cringe at the idea of Salaam producing for Nas.

No disrespect but fukk that “Trapped In The 90’s” shyt. If Nas was rocking over dusty boom bap beats ONLY for the past 25 years he’d be an underground semi-legend opening up shows for Canibus. I like to hear Nas over all different types of production, and its his willingness to experiment that has lengthened his musical longevity and kept him in the mainstream. Nas needs to work with whoever inspires him. Plain and simple

Lol yep

Nas would probably still be a resident of Queensbridge Projects had he gone that 90’s purist route. :pachaha:
