Nas - NASIR (Discussion Thread)

I dont feel like Ye treated Nas with enough respect regarding the release, creation and rollout of this album. Everything was a mess. And then it turns out this nikka bit some of the beats on the album from someone else. Nas is never associated with this much fukkery during an album release but let Ye come along and pull Nas into all his unorganized bullshyt.

I disagree with the score it should be lower

Nas and Def Jam's relationship has been rocky to say the least. I think Nas was more than happy to just give them 7 quickly recorded tracks to fulfill the contract. Also, letting Kanye deal with the roll out (for better or worse) was perfect timing for Nas as he gets to avoid doing any press.

I expect the next roll out to be more traditional (a couple singles, video etc).

Well pretentious is a subjective term. I really cant relate to the subject matter of nasir. This nikka is talking about all this continental scientifical fly shyt that i couldnt give an f about (like what hov was talking on mchg) What nas was spittin on illmatic, life is good, is something a nikka like me can relate too. I gave nasir a chance. It sucks. My opinion

Definitely couldn't have liked the glitches. But I think it's all superseded by the fact that he's done with DJ.

The album itself is great. Right now i have it at a solid 4 mics. Which places it in the I Am-HHID portion of his discography.

Everytime I listen to this album it definitely gets better to me. Don't know if that's everyone else's experience, seems like his most polarizing album since ******.

Couldn't just call it Untitled huh?
