I know there is a well deserved conversation about Nas intros but are we going to start talking about how this nikka ends albums...

It Ain't Hard To Tell
If I Ruled The World
Undying Love
What Goes Around
Poppa Was A Playa
Heaven
Thiefs Theme
Bye Baby
Beautiful Life
The Cure
Nas is Good
Dedicated

:picard:

I would've put the O.G version of Hope up there as well

So my review. Gave it my 1st listen also while reading the lyrics on genius.com. If you want to appreciate someone like Nas, this is what you need to do.

(1) Speechless - One of the best NaS intros of all time , if not the best. I might maybe give Queen's get the money a slight edge. Perfect way to set the tempo for the album. Love the production rating: (5/5)

(2) Meet Joe Black - Both of the verses on this are very impressive. The beat sort of fits the name/theme of the song as well. It sounds like a diss but its not.
rating: (5/5) . Why would I ever have to cop a chain or game when the QB chain birth moved the chains in the game. :banderas:

(3) Ugly - I love the "ugly" theme of this song. The 1st verse on this is fire again. The production also sounds like some classic 90's stuff. rating: (5/5)

(4) 40-16 building - My fav beat on the album. Production from Hit-Boy :damn: . Pardon the haters, it's my billi behavior. If they don't say I'm the G.O.A.T, that's just silly behavior and
It's the ones you grew up with, that's with the dumb shyt They want you slumped 'cause you get love, ain't that some shyt? rating: (5/5)

(5) Hollywood gangsta - This was a solid track but I feel it was the weakest joint on the album. Lyrics of course are impressive. There's nothing wrong with it per se but the other records just have more oomph and depth to them. This is the "One time 4 your mind" on the Magic album. rating: (4/5)

(6) Wu for the children - The song itself was a bit different from what I was expecting after I first saw the name of the song. The 2 verses on this are :ohlawd:., especially the 1st verse. Production is brilliant. Probably my 2nd fav in terms of production. I shoulda had Grammy's when Ol' Dirty said "Wu for the children"
Shoulda did that remix verse on Gimme the Loot for Biggie .Me, Jay, and Frank White is like Cole, Drizzy, and Kenny
rating (5/5)

(7) Wave Gods - The cuts on this from Premier are so enjoyable to listen to. ASAP did his own. Sounded a bit like Pac actually. These younger rappers know they have to level up doing a joint with Nas. What a honor for ASAP to be the only feature on this record (which I consider a classic). Nas' verse was typically brilliant. I love how both verses play off one another with a similar theme. rating (5/5)

(8) The Truth - Definitely the most "Illmatic" and "It was written" record on the album. He just went berserk on this. Its hard not to be impressed by his lyrical level still. rating (5/5)

(9) Dedicated - Nas has always been really good with picking good closers. This is a great closer. I was initially thinking of a 4/5 in my head until I heard that beat switch up and that last verse :lupe: rating (5/5)

Criticism(s) - Nothing. Other than maybe about 4 or 5 records could have had 3 verses instead of 2. Its only 9 songs. But at this stage of his career, its fine.

In conclusion:
This album is pure perfection. American brehs who love this genre are going to be super impressed. Its better than KD1 and even KD2. Honestly, Its better than Life is Good as well.

Its definitely Nas' most "Illmatic" and "It was Written" sounding record . Just in terms of the vibe and rhyming style. You can tell he wanted to go crazy and all out on this record and he did.

I do not want to see any bullshyt reviews when they start to come out from the geeks, haters and nerds who don't know shyt about the ESSENCE of this genre. Give this man his flowers while he's still blessing us with his music gift. This was a sensational album. I don't need another listen to know how good this is.

Overall rating - 5/5 . CLASSIC
