There's not many that stand out to me these days, but that's not the point. We're talking about Hit-Boy, not other producers - and I feel that his production, while good, is sometimes too polished/robotic and lacking a certain oomph, especially in his drum choices - this sticks out even more when he does more "traditional" boom bap songs, as they don't hit quite like they should.
I think Hit-Boy is a super good producer that doesn't necessarily sound very original to me. Like, if someone were to make a "Hit-Boy Type Beat" and put it on YouTube, I'm not really sure what the signature elements would be that don't remind me of some other producers.

That being said, I think he's very talented, and I think he'll keep growing into his own sound. He's definitely a great producer in the truest sense of the word. I think he's a better producer than a pure beatmaker.

edit: @FunkDoc1112 even on this new Magic album I've noticed he's doing the wobble/bending sound effects (on joints like Wu Children and Ugly) that are common on beats by Conductor Williams or Beat Butcha. I didn't hear him doing much of that on albums before Magic.

Hitboy doesnt have signature sound and thats not a bad thing at all. the production on these Nas projects has been :ohlawd:

The other producers Nas has worked with that have range in sound that i loved are
LES - Suspect - Undying Love - Nothing Lasts Forever - U Gotta Love It - Just A Moment - Black Republican - Money Over Bullshyt
Salaam - What Goes Around - Get Down - Streets disciple - Made you Look - Thief's Theme - Bridging the Gap - Cherry Wine - I Can
Trackmasters - The Message - Executive Decision - Hate Me Now - Blaze a 50 - Drunk by Myself - If I Ruled the World - Street dreams rmx

With these sometimes it worked (most times) sometimes it didnt...But when it worked it was legendary:whew:
As u can tell from the tracks above which are in all yall top25z n top50 Nas tracks.:sas2:
Producers with no signature sound have done more for Nas's catalogue than them "Signature Sound Producers....yeah i said it:martin:

Unless someone can point to a recent and "masterfully" produced rap album, then I don't wanna hear a b.s. take on Hitboy's production.

Some people refuse to give credit when credit is due so they fabricate some unrealistic standard. Nas no longer can just rap over good/great production, it has to be "masterful"? Foh.

There is literally no Producer better than Hit Boy right now in Hip Hop. Not Kanye, not Alchemist, not Madlib, whoever you could name. They are not BETTER than Hit-Boy. He’s top 3 at this moment.

nikkas hate Nas so much they hate Hit Boy by proxy. Lol. nikka produced one of the biggest records in Jay’s career. Now he’s trash cause he worked wit Nas. Hit Boy gonna notice how fickle people are with Nas I’m pretty sure he already got a taste of it.

Hit-Boy doesn’t give a fukk. Like he TRULY doesn’t care. All he does on social media is talk about how proud he is of the work he and Nas have done together. He posts the Grammy they won often. He posts positive reviews of the albums. He post fan reactions. All the other shyt doesn’t matter

I've heard the term polished when it comes to hit boy several times. What does that even mean Haha.
