"Turning down Bohemian Grove invitations..." Went over a few heads

Nas a rare nig but ghetto as fukk...imagine my son selling his soul and getting into the rituals and these weirdo organizations and shyt...can't even imagine it. Not surprised they tried tho, lol, when you playing with upwards of 100 M's they're gonna see what you about and what you're willing to do to make 100 more.

Southside, Queens
"We don't respect fake jewelry and silly outfits
Window down, blowing out kush
grey tints, New York's J. Prince on Houston Street"

:ohlawd: This line is dope for a couple reasons... In New York the street is pronounced the way Nas pronounced it ("howsten") but it's spelled just like the city in TX. What makes the line really dope is that SoHo (South of Houston) is one of the fashion/culture/high-life meccas in New York along w/ LES, the whole intro of the track being about Nas being a trendsetter who doesn't follow trends (particularly w/ hip hop fashion) ties into what he's saying here. The way I hear the line, he's saying he's seen as a real boss even amongst NYC's upper-echelon, in spite of the fact that he doesn't flaunt the way most rappers flaunt and carries himself like he never left the hood.
Let's not also forget Prince Street is right there as well. In that area, near Houston.

All bullshyt aside, there's nothing really wrong with this album. These really might be the hardest beats Nas has rapped over in a long time. Only skip on here is Ugly. Just doesn't work for me.

Not sure if it's gonna knock off anything above the bottom of my top 10 list this year but it's pretty good. Definitely better than KD1 which was decent but didn't move the needle for me. KD2 I just never got around to listening to....maybe I still won't lmao

I doubt Kanye would ever sabotage Nas. He’s a Nas stan and has said multiple times that Nas is his favorite rapper.

It was simply lack of planning and narcissism. If you listen to Kanye speaking about the album, he truly acts like he gave Nas a classic. Like he BELIEVES that shyt whole heartedly.

I actually like Nasir for what it is, I listen to it regularly, but there’s no doubt that it SHOULD have been better. Kanye was on that bullshyt and the only album that didn’t suffer from it during that era was the one that he actually spent TIME crafting, which was Daytona.

Hell I think if you gave Kanye and Nas a MONTH in the studio together, you’d get a stone cold classic. Instead Kanye wanted to play MAGA Superman and fumbled.

100% lack of planning and hubris. And you know Nas is laid back so he was like f*ck it. I’ll throw something on.

I’ve always said this – Nas needs a solid exec producer on his releases. He loves hip hop. Loves to rhyme, but his tracklist management isn’t consistent.

I feel like it was sabotage because they had Nas rap over entirely different beats, then changed the beats without his knowledge, then tinkered with the mix until the very last moment so it went to DSPs late. People were saying Nas was off beat but he wasn’t rapping to those beats. It’s not on him. I just feel like the entire thing was very weird.

Especially given how smoothly the Pusha release went….it left a really bad taste in my mouth.

switched out beats? I’ve never heard this. What’s the source?
