That's the legendary Mr. Magic so hopefully an early 90's theme. Maybe Nas got inspired for this around the time he was getting the Video Music Box documentary together.

These labels gonna start getting at Nas for this. Going Indy and doing 50K+ first week and getting 60% or more profit margin is a problem when their artist doing less and keeping them in the red. Artist gonna start fighting to go Indy like Nelly told them to

nas isn’t the only person doing this, younger artist doing the same thing and it’s not a issue, plus he is a legacy act at this point.
