Magic 2 is my favorite in the Magic series. It’s my most played album of 2023. It only has a bad rap on this site due to a few, but very loud Hit Boy haters.

The bar was always high, but it just kept getting higher, especially after KD3 which I consider the best album in the era. It was almost like a finale, so when Magic 2 was announced, everybody was expecting something that didn't happen. It was hard to know what to make of it, and then Magic 3 came out which was more of what I thought Magic 2 would sound like initially.

It does say a lot that "Slow it Down" has gotten so much praise considering the reactions to the album when it came out.

It doesn’t have a bad rep on this site, people just don’t think it’s as good as KD3 KD2 or Magic.

Still a good album I don’t think there’s a bad album between Hitboy and Nas but those 3 stand out above the next three Magic 3.2 KD1

2024 will officially mark 30 years of Nas being in the music game (after dropping the legendary Illmatic in 1994), and thanks to recent collaborations alongside producer Hit-Boy, he's showing no signs of slowing down. Magic 2 marks the fifth collaborative album between Nas and Hit-Boy, and they continue to bat 1.000 whenever they step to the plate. The pairing between the rapper and producer continues to work perfectly because Nas isn't chasing trendy sounds and Hit-Boy is making sure the lush production fits Nas' style at best. Nas calls out his haters on songs like "Abracadabra," talks about his status and business sense on "Earvin Magic Johnson," and raps about his competitors on "Slow It Down." Magic 2 proves that Nas is still one of the best MCs in the game, even after three decades in the industry. A couple of months later, Nas and Hit-Boy released Magic 3, which also could've easily made this list as part of the year's best albums.

Funny cause a lot of posters in here were laughing when I said Mick's album was better. And this list has Mick's album ranked higher at number 4. Still believe it's number 1, but regardless....any legit hip hop head knows that Mick album is fire.

Mick Jenkins fans tend to think he is the best…
for the younger age bracket maybe he is I’ll check him out.
