I never liked the track by track comparaison because depending of the sequencing a weaker album can won anyways. What determines a better album is the replay value essentially and the quantity of highs and lows. magic 2 is the first hit and nas album I barely revisit. The other ones I replayed them 100 times. Magic is way better, it's on my top 5 nas' album not counting lost tapes. Magic 2 barely makes my top 10
Ive had Magic 2 on repeat all throughout this summer. Played it at a few kick backs and laying by the pool and it’s a vibe. Women love black magic and motion.

Interesting that the target audience for this letter requires that the the NBA players, LeBron included, require more explanation for who they are than the baseball players.

"Who is that extremely tall black man and why is he here?"

Good album. Nothing more nothing less. Solid 4 mic album.

In basketball perspective

KD1- reached conference finals- 4 mics
KD2- reached nba finals- 4.5 mics
Magic- won the chip- 5 mics
KD3- repeated- 5 mics
Magic 2- flamed out in the conference finals- 4 mics.
:mjlol:

Only appropriate hoops analogy is

Mike 91, 92, 93
Mike 96, 97, 98

Rapreviews FINALLY reviews Magic 2

I still don't get why some people want to call Magic a mixtape or a glorified mixtape. Because it's short? Damn, I guess Illmatic is a mixtape, too. Anyway. Rapreviews is fair for the most part and while I like Magic 2 a hell of a lot more than most including this reviewer, this review is also fair.

I had to listen to Magic 2 again as it's catching so many strays in the Magic 3 thread and I still like it a lot so I stand behind liking it more than most.

I have no idea why people would call the Magic series mixtapes or even Lost Tapes adjacent. All three of them are ALBUMS and Nas has never been a mixtape type artist. He’s only ever released one official mixtape and thats the ****** Tape that dropped before Untitled.

No the man didn’t release these as mixtapes, he made 6 ALBUMS compromising of two full trilogies in 6 years. Yes he’s that good. Yes they’re that great.

As for Magic 2, i’m on record as its up there with my favorite of the series. Its above KD1 and Magic to me. Nas and Hit-Boy hit the experimental bag HEAVY with that album and I loved every second of it besides 50’s mailed in verse.

Got the shipping notice for my shiny silver cassette tape. I do actually still have a tape player but tapes sound like shyt (can't believe they have made a small comeback) so it's just a collector's item. Only KDII didn't have a tape during this run, which kind of sucks for collectors.
