I’m not slighting the album

I think it’s the best of the collabs but those songs I don’t really go back to to :hubie:
I get that, but those songs are a lot better than songs that made Nas classic album from the Columbia era

The highs from the newer era Nas albums don’t catch your attention like the old days, which is understandable. But the consistency of a KD3 is at the top of Nas’ catalog

The 718
Blueprint has less songs. It’s not WAY more consistent. It takes way less risks tho even by Jay Z standards being that it was his least lyrical album up until that point. Stillmatic was creative as hell and far more lyrically dense. Blueprint was a production masterpiece. Reasonable Doubt wins for me because it had both.
Blueprint and Stillmatic are both 13 songs :what:

I love Serious Interlude and I'm on Fire..
I mean love those 2..
That’s cool, I don’t … the beats and hook is corny … to me .. to each his own.
"Beef" is skippable? :gucci:
I’ve heard that concept done better, sorry :hubie:
Firstly, any of y’all hating on Smokin’ is buggin. That track is a stone cold classic. Stillmatic has no skips. It’s a 5 mic front to back.

Second, the idea of trimming KD/Magic albums down is foolish because some of tracks some folks love others would cut. For example, I’m cutting Blue Benz, Death Row East, Store Run, Ugly and Wave Gods but to some people those are the best tracks in the whole run. But I’m keeping Ultra Black, 10 Points, 40 Side, No Phony Love, Earving Magic Johnson, but I know some people would cut those tracks.

The great thing about this run is there’s more than enough to make your own 5 mic playlist.

Also, I’m not cutting nothing from KD3.
I get all that. My point was trimming the weak songs from the albums to lift the quality of another …

Even if you don’t think KD3 has nothing to cut

You can’t deny KD1 and KD2 had weak points …

Trimmed fat from those makes a top 4 Nas album .. which none of these releases do for me … personally

Consistency is fine but highs matter … highs make albums

I’ll take stillmatic intro over any song on these 5
Albums

That’s just me

The only A Grade songs across the Hit Boy albums I'd say are Moments, Nobody, Speechless, The Truth, Legit, Thun, and Recession Proof. While Stillmatic has the intro, Got Urself, One Mic, 2nd Childhood, Rewind and You're the Man. And while Ethers not exactly a great song it's such a triumph that it's A grade too.

40-16 building, Meet Joe Black too

Serious interlude
I’m on fire
Beef
Till My last breath

Honestly, after Reminisce I skip everything until I get to First Time

I hate the first part of WTF SMH, wish that was 2 short snippets so I could get to the beat change

then I skip till dont shoot

Album coulda ended there in my opinion

Can’t cut out I’m on fire and beef

I tell you what and I’ve noticed this during the run: some people have tried to be so contrarian about these albums because of who’s producing them they’ve gone back to giving Stillmatic and Life is Good the flowers they deserve when it was contrarian to hate them too

I think sometimes it’s younger hardcore heads not even older ones who might hate on them cause they think he gotta rap like the prime as opposed to seeing it as a different run

This the best run nas has been on and its not even close. This is the synergy Jay wanted with Ye. It will go down in history as the most legendary run up there with Da Drought series.

He finally found a nikka that aint stingy with the beats :skip:

Does KD2 standout to anyone else? I mean the feel, that album feels like the only “big” album they’ve done. KD1 is like that too kinda but not on KD2’s level. Compare the joints on KD2 to the joints on the other albums, they’re so much bigger, pause.

Death Row East
Nobody
Store Run
EPMD 2
My Bible
40 Side
Count Me In
Nas is Good

Like these all sound like they could have been on previous Nas albums (maybe not 40 side)…whereas most of the other songs on these albums, for the most part, sound like they’d only fit in this Hitboy and Nas bag…which is a fire bag but I’m just saying.. I wish Nas would have did a regular promo run for KD2, I think this could have been the one to “blow”. It’s like KD1 on roids. Like for real, imagine if he promo’d and shot a video for “Nobody” with Lauren. Come on…that woulda been outta here.
