RS is wave hopping. The LEAST they could do as a “reputable” music site is to review the goddamn album so there’s written PROOF of why you feel the album deserves its placement and it can added to the metacritic aggregate for future fans to read.

But that would be too much like right

Its fukking disgusting.
Rolling Stone can eat a dikk, as always. I don’t respect their opinion at all.

Them having KD3 at number 2 don’t change that. Having it ant number 1 wouldn’t change it. fukk Rolling Stone

Nas getting zero radio play for like 20 years needs to be analyzed deeper, pause. Nas is a big deal in rap…he isn’t some forgotten about random luminary who drops albums that no one speaks about…he’s still a relatively big presence. Ain’t no way it’s not some phuckery going on. Out of all the KD series (and Magic), literally nothing got any airplay. How???!!?!! Even in New York. “Replace Me” would have been spinning around the clock if that was Jay-z instead of Nas. If “Blue Benz” was Jay-z, Flex and them would be dropping bombs on that shyt still, 2 years later. Salute to Jay-z, only using him because he’s the only one that’s kinda similar to Nas and his tenure

The crazy thing is that as you mentioned Nas has “radio” friendly records on the albums. Replace me, ultra black, 27 summers, spicy, all bad, yktv, rare, nobody, 40 side, get light, 30, michal and quincy, till my last breath.

it's because labels pay for radio play, it's that simple

Nas said 20 years ago that Flex and Hot 97 was taking money under the table to play records. “Coincidentally” thats around the time when he stopped getting major airplay. Made You Look and I Can were hits, and then after that he hasn’t had a major charting solo single since Hip Hop Is Dead.

Nas not paying extra for radio spins or sucking off these DJ’s/ hosts. We all KNOW that objectively speaking there’s at minimum 2-4 songs across KD1-KD3 that could have easily been moderate chart hits. Spicy should have been the Made You Look for the 2020’s

me and my homie were talking about :ahh: and jay-z the other day and how none of their shyt is ever played when we are out.

but then we also discussed how if either of those two decided to do a show at an arena, they could both sell it out. which goes to show you that both are still very relevant despite not being on the radio. but hell, who listens to radio anyways in 2022?

that payola is definitely still going on. there's too many instances when I'm listening to the likes of ebro in the morning on hot 97, and they stay gassing up :trash: albums and :trash: artist.

I know good and well they are still taking that bread for the hype. I don't listen to flex, but I've heard him dikkride so many trash projects, it's laughable that anyone takes an endorsement from him seriously at this point.

I cant front im pleased KD 3 is ranking high on all these year end lists. Cause after they did KD 1 and 2 dirty, I was preparing for it to get completely left off some lists especially when this year has been stacked with notable albums. I'll take Billboard putting it in the top 10 and Rolling Stone top 2

Its at least top 5 if people give it a fair shake

yeah and he think he's slick by invite the "real hip hop artists" to do freestyles just so he can brag about "See, I'm keeping it real". He was bragging about the black tought freestyle but you never hear black thought new album get radio play tho

I live in NY and Nas barely got any airplay the past 2 years from any of the KD albums or Magic........I mean Wave Gods with ASAP coulda been a big hit imo, got no airplay at all.

Theres a bunch of others that coulda been singles or blew up this past summer.......Brunch on Sundays, Nobody with Lauryn (sh!t, it was Lauryn's first real verse in 10+ years that shoulda got major airplay). Blue Benz, 27 Summers, etc.

On KD3 there's Legit which bangs, Im on Fire, Michael and Quincy, Get Light.

I mean there's a bunch of radio friendly tracks across all 4 albums.

I havent heard any of Nas' shyt played once on Hot 97 or Power 105 recently, then you got people like Ebro and Rosenberg saying how real hip hop is always dying, then nikka play some damn real hip hop songs on your station! SMH
