thats a young dude saying what he feels is relevant to people his age and the old heads told him Nas was relevant. he has an entitlement to his opinion

i think old heads could do better to listen sometimes than be moved to outrage all the time.. I maintain the discussion was decently respectable about music and opinions. it's nothing to make headlines and arguments over. Nas topped the itunes charts with a release 30 years in. Yes he is relevant. Doesn't mean that young people have to agree. Taking that conversation, sound biting and click baiting it for controversy is corny and discourages people from open dialogue. As an old head I don't agree with how people reacting plain and simple. They took the bait... let's stop pitting generations against each other, that shyt corny. The debate should be allowed without feelings getting caught. It wont change the reality of things.
It don't matter if he right or not and the technicalities and semantics. When you're a young artist you don't come and say Michael Jackson Stevie wonder or Mick Jagger are irrevelant. Only in hip hop you see that kind of disrespect.

nobody said he was right :what:

he feeling the heat because the media ran with that quote.

there was no heat in the actual discussion it was pretty calm and collected. we discuss rap on this forum everyday. that conversation was no different from ones had here daily :heh: ...differing opinions and all, the difference was the ears and eyes on it and who was a part of it. people fishing for content as usual.

them talking about relevancy and importance of core fanbases was actually engaging. people will be scared to share opinions in public is a conversation will just get dissected and repurposed for the most potency with hits. 21 allowed to have a stupid opinion, i don't feel that is was an insult or meant that way. people are thirsty.

Let me give you an example.

Remember why the ll canibus happened ? Canibus made a line about taking ll mic off his arm and rap with it. He did it with no foul intention and it was more to make a mean bar. But ll took offense of that because you don't take off something off him without his consent even for a bar.
Ll did him dirty when canibus took off his bar and ll didn't took off his and the rest is history.
My point is when krs heard the line he was basically sayin canibus disrespect ll and should not take no mic and just be lucky to be on the record.
I kinda see what 21 savage meant but that's a legend you talk about. You don't use word like irrelevant for someone who's 30 years in the game

Another example much shorter. Your wife or your mom ask you is she pretty ? You say yes no matter what and k. i. m

Thing is I’d expect that comment from a 16-21 year old, someone born after the towers dropped. 21 Savage is 30 years old
