The one in London closed down. I went once but then Covid hit and new place opened once lock down ended

which surprised me. Seemed popular

Restaraunts in Central London always open and close quick, especially ones that are standalone american theme ones and thats before Covid.

Competitve market and high rental space, especially that corner where Sweet Chick was, I swear its like a new place opens every 2 years there. Them opening only 6 months before the pandemic and then going through that screwed them. Im certain it was gonna be an afterparty spot late at night for celebs and whenever Nas or any hip hop acts come through (like a mainstream version of Chip Shop in Brixton) They even had Premier and I think Statik Selektah spin down there. That probably would have helped build its name But by the time lockdown happened and then 2 more lockdowns, it probably wasnt known well enough for people to order on delivery. I seen nuff of those semi soul food places with Chicken and Waffles come and go around central too so I also dont know if theres as strong an audience for it outside of trying it once.

I know. I thought you were saying they opened it.

Nas himself said he was gonna open it but man thats another city thats oversaturated with international botique kitchen restaraunt especially American ones so I dont know if he didnt have the right investor or they just never got around to it.

John said he jumped the gun announcing that. I think they better stick to America.

Yeah I think theres still a chance to open up internationally once things recover a bit from Covid, but like I said I've noticed soul food restraunts when opening overseas dont last long even though they seem filled and popular at one time or another.

Im honestly impressed they've done alright in the US as well given that concept is probably everywhere anyway in terms of local joints

good points. Honestly these days the only places that are crazy popular are where it’s good for an Instagram post.

The place next door to where Sweet Chick was is always packed simply because it’s got flowers everywhere that people use for an insta post.

Sweet chick didn’t really have that although as you say it definitely could have been popular hip hop/ night drinking spot

This was pretty dope. Lmao at The Who killed it discussion. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Nas discuss the song itself. Dope to hear where his head was at the time of the track. Such an obscure question you know they were legit fans. I love it, not llike that lame Rosenberg who taught Hip Hop Is Dead was Nas double disc.
