There is so much truth in this statement. If y’all only knew how certain people in this industry are infuriated they can no longer make this narrative about Nas not being a successful business man like Jayz, Diddy the topic of discussion. To be honest I think even Jayz and Diddy felt they were superior to Nas bc he wasn’t mentioned in the business conversation with them. Just recently Diddy posted a pic with all three of them and tagged his and Jayz’s businesses in the pic and them just tagged Nas with his name instead of with one of his many businesses ex. QBVP, MassAppeal, HSTRY, Sweet Chicks ect.

diddy gave nas his props for his business endeavors/sense a few years ago at those revolt awards

Y’all be surprised. Presenting Nas with an award and Nas ghostwriting for him has nothing to do with him feeling at a point he’was superior to him. The industry has made certain artist believe they were superior to their peers.
This might be true if slot of people but Puff has always seemed like he really holds Nas in high regard.

of all the industry people who have historically taken little sideways swipes and Nas or said some slick shyt, I can’t remember Puff ever doing that. I might be wrong but I just don’t think he was ever on the Nas hate bandwagon

Dunno about Diddy but I definitely think a lot of people are mad. Diddy is at a level where he's good...yea Diddy always gonna be an a$$hole in my mind because I'm a Pac stan, but Diddy has watched Nas go through wild shyt from 1993-now and is prob excited they're both chilling in Malibu rich as fukk. At that level you're excited to see people who look like you doing the shyt you do.

But there's an entirely different level of guys...many of them PRODUCERS, managers, media members, rappers...who are mad that Nas didn't end up like Ja or the Wu members, or even Dipset. Guys who are good life-wise but can be looked down at, on some "yea remember when you were hot? Look at you now" shyt. At this point Nas is running up the score LATE in his career and it's shifting things. I remember the monthly Nas slander threads on SOHH back in the day, or the Bryon Crawford shyt, the Kanye fukk up with the Nasir Tidal/Apple/Spotify/etc release...all that shyt. People get the popcorn out when it's time to laugh at Nas. Nobody laughing now.

A lot of them are in this very forum, and are running out of excuses :yeshrug:

Dude has unmatched longevity in the game, and he did it his way. It's kind of odd because it's like they want certain hip hop legends to lose so their guy looks better :sas1:

Haven't read the article yet but I did see the quote at the beginning where Nas says people stop him in the street to talk investments more than music now. That's interesting to me. I feel like Nas is a more relatable legend than some of the others, like Kanye or especially Jay. In the sense that Nas, for a portion of his career, was clowned as not being as business savvy as others, the tax issues, etc. There was a time when laughing at Nas or going out your way to say he wasn't a businessman like Jay/Diddy/Kanye/etc was acceptable. Bryon Crawford wrote an entire book making fun of him.

But now everything has completely flipped...and you can tell certain people are mad. Nas has been successful for quite some time obviously but that tech and investment money has taken him to another level...I think we can all agree on that right? That's an inspiring story for people because MOST people don't hit on their first or second try...it takes time. That even later in life you can still hit the mark if you prepare correctly and are in the right spot to capitalize off your work. He's killed all that "Nas isn't a businessman" shyt. AND he's killed the shyt about beats, albums, whatever. At this point he's on top of the fukking world. And yet he still seems far more relatable than most legends. He might smoke a blunt with you and give you some investment tips. Hov not doing that lol.
Can see myself in presidential campaign dinners
But I'm passing blunts around a bunch gang members
When you to hood to be in them Hollywood circles
Or you're to rich to be in the hood that birthed you
:wow:

Nobody jumped off a bridge about it B. We just talking from a hip hop fan perspective. We all been having favorites since teenagers.
