Come on esco. With the verse AZ had on KD, we still wanna hear some more new Nas and AZ shyt.

You posted a throwback photo on your Instagram of you and Nas in the ‘90s with part of the caption reading, “Doe or Die 2 coming soon.” Were there intentions of having him on the album?
Yeah. After that, King’s Disease II came out and he was moving around, shaking and baking. I had to really get my thing cooking. The invitation was given but he was moving around, so it didn’t happen. But, I’m sure in the future we’ll figure it out. And if not, we have enough classics for the people to live off of.

Smh and lol at Nas ghosting AZ again. It's no excuse for Nas not being on the AZ album. I'm pretty sure AZ talked to Nas about being on 'Doe or Die 2' last year after the King's Disease 1 came out. The picture the interviewer is talking about was in October of last year. That doesn't read as AZ contacted Nas after KD2 came out. That reads as "yeah, I had intentions of him being on the album then all of a sudden KD2 drops". Shoutout to AZ tho for always being a man and not bytching and moaning about what Nas doesn't do for him:salute:even tho he said "Nas got rich, ain't reach back, I ain't riff yet":lupe:

AZ literally said he hit Nas right after Kings Disease 2 dropped. So that means right as Nas started going on shows and semi touring again. Its just bad timing, it ain’t on Nas.
AZ been working on Do Or Die 2 for the last few years. In all that time Nas could have drop a verse for the god. From everything we can tell AZ never been the type to hold out his hand for favors which is probably why him and Nas stayed cool all these years, but I’m sure the invitation has always been open for Nas, even if AZ never asked him. And yeah it’s on AZ too but cmon son, how they didn’t have that conversation.

I mean this is the same shyt Rae said when he was trying to get Nas on Cuban Linx 2. I get it Nas is hard to pin down but it ain’t like he hasn’t done features for others in the meantime.

shyt should have been a given after Full Circle. Verse for a verse. Nas could bless AZ, Mega, Foxy with a verse each, they wouldn’t turn it down

Might be an easy answer, but Nas is going to do what he does. All we know is what other people say. :yeshrug:

DJ Premier wanted Nas for the last Gang Starr album, but Nas told him that he wasn't feeling inspired and didn't want to mail in his verse. That's why all we got was Nas remaking the "Aight Chill" skit, but I don’t think that was a good idea because people most likely thought Nas would be on the album.

Did you read the interview? AZ said that the version of Doe Or Die 2 we’re about to hear on the 10th has been only really in the works since last year. With the Pandemic locking shyt down he really had time to bunker down and knock the album out. In his OWN words, he reached out to Nas after Kings Disease 2 released, which would be right when Nas started touring and doing shows. He’s got a bunch of shows coming up, plus interviews, video shoots, etc. all in support of HIS album.

Nas himself has said he’s been busy and hasn’t been able to get back to people. In the interview with Ebro he acknowledged people have been reaching out to him and he named that Jim Jones was waiting on him. Sometimes schedules don’t align. I don’t know why AZ would wait until AFTER Nas dropped his follow up to reach out for a verse. But thats how the cookie crumbled:yeshrug:

I know bro, I just wish they would make it happen. Every AZ/Nas collab is some incredible fly shyt. They got such a great chemistry on the mic. I can live with what they already have but more would be ill

Honestly, I take more Nas-AZ collabos over dwelling about the need for more Nas over Primo/Pete Rock/Abstract/Large Pro beats :hubie:. That’s not to say I wouldn’t welcome Nas linking back up with aforementioned or slighting them necessarily. Nas-AZ jawnts over the years are like Magic-Cap, Young Penny-Young Diesel, Mamba-Prime Diesel :blessed:
