It pains me to say this as a Nas Stan but my man is washed. He still can put words together with the best of them but my nikka is very uninspired right now.

Play the Clue tapes for old verses. :camby:

is there a verse on those projects that is fukking with Last Words? How about Life We Chose? How about Project Windows?
:yeshrug:

Money Over Bullshyt
Carry on Tradition
Black Republican
Hold Down the Block
Not Going Back
Still Dreaming
Let There Be Light
Play on Playa
Hustlers
Can't Forget About You
Hope
The N
Where Y'all At

That album was full of hot Nas verses. :dwillhuh:

The actual hip hop review

Ken with the weird haymaker. He also was the only one not feeling Bandana either due to production disconnect (but not Pinata). Can't ride with him here but everyone felt Nas performance.

I feel them on Big Sean lol. I'm over my Cass Tech alumni. That last track only floated because of Nip. He needs to GTFO.

Good review even if I disagree on some points. Myke is right that wanting Nas to rap over "safe" beats is weird. Safe for Nas would have been a bunch of regressive boom bap beats, or some Griselda shyt. Tracks that didn't fit his pocket would have been...well, Nasir, where it's just a bunch of boring loops and weird drums.

Stuff like 27 Summers feels like a 2013/2014 Drake beat, and it fits Nas perfectly because there's enough space for him to rap...plus the snares are hard. It's like that boi1da, 40 shyt that Drake always snaps on. I've been saying for years, that's the shyt Nas should be on. That and Ross type soulful beats...and both are on this album.

Think about it like this. Spicy is the last song on a 14 track, and it's the track that debuted on the Billboard 100. Usually streaming trails off as an album goes longer. That's why the biggest selling albums of recent years come out the gate with big tracks, because those get streamed first (think DNA on DAMN, or Nonstop on Scorpion). For the LAST album on your shyt to get on the chart...people are fukking with it. Spicy should def get a video, asap.
