I’m not speaking on kids or anything. I’m talking about grown KENDRICK fans that didn’t fukk wit that shyt. The hype didn’t match real life. I don’t care where u worked at bro. I don’t care WHAT u say. That album DIDNT deserve the hype it got. Best reviewed rap album of all time? nikka do u know how crazy that is? That shyt is a joke fam. Like I said before Aint shyt u can really tell me that’s gonna convince me. I been listening to music and hip hop for too long for that. If u think it’s the greatest rap album ever created. Than that’s fine. But if u don’t. Than u automatically agree with me because it got rated as just that.

Being the best reviewed rap album doesn't make it the best rap album ever, dude. I don't know why you guys obsess over reviews like this. The album was great, and it received acclaim and hype. It's really that simple, fam. I'm not even sure what we're arguing lmao.

I think most fans don't understand how labels operate. When I talk about sales, marketing, "pushes" etc I'm talking about shyt I actually experienced. I remember when no one thought Kendrick would do shyt. So the idea that he went from an after thought to a major asset with "the machine" fully behind him to create his success...is laughable to me. Everyone here who followed Kendrick a the time knew they were trying to get Lady Gaga on the album, get him on pop records, etc. He could have easily ended up a "remember that one guy" artist, like BoB. The fact that he avoided that fate is a testament to HIS talent, and the brilliance of his team (TDE, not Interscope). Give the man his dap and move on. He's a legend now.

Dude is a media darling fam. Bottom line. I honestly don’t care about his reviews either. I’m just using that shyt as an example of him being a media darling. nikka album was like a pair of Travis Scott 1’s to a bunch of hype beasts. GKMC. U actually saw the love that shyt got in real life in real time. TPAB? He’ll no. Lol. And what makes it so bad. Dude regressed lyrically on that shyt compared to the albums before it. I don’t hate Kendrick. I actually chopped it up wit boi before he blew up. He’s clearly one of the best of this generation. No question. I’m just callin a spade a spade.

It’s a good album who is acting like it’s unworldly?

The videos were unworldy though.

Sounds like insecure Nas stans to me :hubie:
Nah you said you put Jay over Nas after 444. As if 444 was some ungodly album that Nas couldnt touch. It was just an observation.

i dont care about Cac metrics

4:44 was not getting universal praise within the culture of hip hop...

It’s aged poorly for a reason
Yeah it was it was way more impactful than this album on hip-hop culture as a whole.

And it hasn't aged poorly.

This is why @Cladyclad be on y'all headtops
