I was going to say I thought the 10 guys was like that Havoc track from Hell On Earth, where they would be too paranoid to go to a rival hood, and have to walk through the entrances with a bunch of locals sizing them up. Not like she had 10 guys lined up outside her house for her. Not that Nas or any other rap artist doesn't make sexist or misogynist statements or music, but that wasn't one.

edit: more trife life "but the bytch live in the bridge" or is that the first Trife Life
That’s the OG where both P and Hav spoke on it. That was such a prevalent theme in hip hop in the 90s, that even if that wasn’t your personal reality, if you’re knowledgeable about hip hop you would understand what Nas was talking about.

if these reviewers aren’t understanding basic shyt like that, what else are they missing or misunderstanding?

the reviewer really tried to call Nas out for slut shaming that girl cause he doesn’t know what the fukk he’s talking about :mjlol:

Replace Dr. Knockboot, Big Things, K-I-SS-I-N-G, Money Is My bytch with Project Windows, Blaze a 50, Find Ya Wealth and Drunk by Myself and it's one of the greatest albums of all time.

Why do people hate Nas having fun on albums so much..
Is it not a good thing to be a well rounded individual

Anytime he goes a lil light, problems!

Who killed it
I can
Hey Nas
Reach out

You damn purists or traditionalists or whatever you call yourselves are a damn headache. The album ain't just for you only.

Just like I understood what biggie was doing with playa hater. It didn't take away from the album for me.

Nas is treated like a sacred cow. So many damn boundaries placed on him. Good thing he just does him.

Imagine if Nas pulled a dmx n placed a "how's goin down" type record in the middle of "Hardcore" Illmatic. Some of you did take away a mic n a half n he will never hear the end of it

I don’t think anybody hates I Can.

I LOVE Who Killed It and Reach Out is one of the best pure rap performances in Nas’s career.

I always liked Reach Out, I still play that a lot. The opening bars are too real, and relatable, even at my rather modest status, compared to Nas

"3:30 AM can't sleep, can't dream, money problems pop up, how will I survive, I guess it's best to decide not to decide, so that's my decision"

"I can see myself at presidential campaign dinners, but I'm passing blunts around a bunch of gang members"

"when you're too old to be in the hood, that birthed but too hood to be in those Hollywood circles..."

It's not that serious. No problem with lighthearted songs. I was cool with Firm Biz and You Owe Me which got shytted on heavily at the time. You Won't See Me Tonight is the most commercial track on I Am... and I didn't say anything about swapping it out. Just saying the leaks fukked up the tracklist and if you put all strongest shyt from those sessions on one album it'd be recognize as an all time classic. As is, still a good album. Eventually we got those tracks anyway so I'm not stressing over it.

Nas: King’s Disease

They gave 4:44 an 8.4 and King's Disease a 6.3 :scust:

:dead: I bet you the writer had a very self satisfied smug look when he wrote “Only to 10 other suitors in front of her building”.
