I used to really fukk with this song heavy too when it came out. It's still a dope song, but the production and hook haven't aged well. I still think he was kicking some shyt on there on the verses though.

Damn, a lot of brehs are saying they don't fukk with Life is What You Make It in here huh?The album was critically acclaimed and one of the most commercially successful albums of 99.
The anticipation for it was huge. Nas is Like. The Bootleg.
I desperately tried to like the retail album. I gave it months. Ultimately I had to accept the fact that it wasn't anywhere near a 4.5 mic album.

Life Is What You Make It is ok but you would think that a song with Nas and DMX would be classic. The fact that it's just ok really sums up the entire album to me. Missed opportunities....

Nas stans are the fukking WORST
Song is just average, they could have done better but it isn't terrible, worse things have emerged from both albums that you can blatantly tell this is far below Nas' normal quality output. There's Nastradamus title track, I Wanna Talk To You, Big Things, Big Girl, Quiet nikkas just to name a few.

Not that it makes the opinion more or less valid, but a cracker did not review that album. Carlito Rodriguez did and he's not a cracker.

I mean Source did give the Hot Boys and Made Men albums 4 and a half mics that year and Black Rob (though Im sure that was for the advance/bootleg cause that was months out from the retail)

I knew the southern dudes would get mad at that one but that raised a few eyebrows at the time , luckily retrospect history on y'all side cause the south won and all that
Im just saying they was giving a lot of 4.5 mics a lot at the time, I love the album too
