Nas dropped a hella weird song, but its a grower and not that wack

Al Jarreau’s style of jazz is that corny, 80’s shyt. Like some Broadway sis boom ba bullshyt. Reminds of late season Cosby Shiw themes.

Cats in here flodgin’ like Jarreau is Bird or some shyt.

I’d bet money Jarreau has worked with Kenny G or Najee.

This is also true, Jarreau's shyt that he was famous for was always corny as fukk to me growing up. He was very talented vocally but his music was tepid tap water status.



Only shyt I ever really fukked with from him was this and that's only because it was on some more smooth contemporary r&b shyt and even then he almost fukked it up with his "vocal stylings"

Idk how old you are so I don't know if you was into hip hop when that album dropped, but that album was panned by critics at the time, people saying it was trash and he sold out and all that. It wasn't until somewhat recently that that album started getting love like that. One of the main critiques of the album was it's production, so I can see Mega's point...he is a Nas hater though, lol.

The actual truth is the "sound" was different from illmatic. So that threw people off. And some people was immediately turned off by the trackmasters involvement thinking it meant "commercial" before even digesting the album.

The major magazines of that time was Source, Vibe n Blaze. NONE of them "panned" the album.
