Personal life - Lol who gives a shyt? But since you bringing that up, Nas never got aired out for an entire album by his bytch and then made a simp song about disappointing his family as his response. REAL iinteresting you mention personal life before the music side tho.

Musically -
Jay has some great albums, Nas has some great albums. Jay has a couple weaker albums, Nas has a couple weaker albums. BUT Jay has always been following Nas. Nas makes Illmatic, Jay runs with the style and makes RD. Nas makes Life Is Good, Jay runs with the style and makes 4:44. Even Jay would tell you that shyt.

Financial and business - I mean Nas hasn't just eclipsed Jay business wise and financially wise but who the fukk has? The camel is pretty much richer than every fukking human on the face of the earth lmao. Meanwhile Nas has bounced back a little bit, net worth way up after his various investments. Hardly something to roll your eyes at.

Nas legacy is pretty much ruined. And to keep it real, Prodigy (rip) has a better body of work than Nas have.
I remember when a Nas song or a Nas album used to be an event. The last shyt he dropped got a couple of listens and then was forgotten.
At this point Nas needs to go be an underling over at Griselda. They'll throw him some beats and make him somewhat listenable again.

:mjlol: Dusty ass nas stans in here lying to themselves that this is good. Y'all spend all day on here whining about how "THAT shyt TRASH" whenever a young rapper comes out with something experimental, but now it's:
i'm in the minority. This is pretty creative and out of the realm from what we'll ever hear Nas do. You want him to do Illmatic songs 99 percent of the time? This was probably one of those experimental tracks and might take some time to grow on you. But GOT DAMN, he was FLOWING on this. Can't deny that :blessed:

Y’all some weirdos. I’m not even a Nas Stan like that (though he’s top 3 imo) but because it ain’t the formulaic boom bap style rap it’s trash? Not saying it’s great or anything but I respect artists that try something outside the box

Art is supposed to be an expression of the artist. Not based upon what someone else wants . If u want a certain type of thing or sound etc then u do it yourself. If not stfu . I could never be a puppet for someone elses needs and wants, personally ‍♂️

U niggs are weirdos. Why are u niggs so critical of everything this nigg does musically. I know he's your Idol but damn. If he drops something that isn't close to what you niggs want from him y'all act like bytches. Stop that.

This shyt is fire to me? I'm so confused at the response. A track like this in an album gives variety. This is much different than the normal Nas sound and is experimental and I love when he branches out more rather than the same kind of shyt.

It's ok to admit this is garbage. None of you will ever go back to listen to it again.

He's been a little inactive, but he's back now...so what's the problem? Homie is in his mid 40's now, he's allowed to take a break.

Nasir wasn't outright trash - but yes, it was a rushed, inconsistent project. I blame Ye and his bullshyt more than Nas though.

Overall inconsistency - nah. Illmatic, It Was Written, I Am, Stillmatic, Lost Tapes, God's Son, Untitled, Distant Relatives and LIG are all good to masterpiece level albums. A couple of his others were more inconsistent but he's still got a solid batting average. Plus every rapper has ups and downs in their career. He's got more good to great albums than 99 percent of other rappers.
It kills me when people say he is inconsistent. All those albums you named are fire. His catalogue of projects is dope with the exception of a few. I think people are just followers, they heard that narrative that nas is inconsistent and ran with it. Every great rapper has had misses
