This fasinating shyt. I don't remember nas giving an answer to the name of his first album.

Always that it was a reference to his homie Ill will.

I realized long ago there are rhymes upon songs upon albums of references of street shyt or personal shyt that we glance over becuase we think it doesn't mean much (and the great rappers disguise street stories really well) or as filler lines. Careful not to expose/indict nikkas.

That's why I love this culture.

this.

Latinos in NY are not the same latinos you got in cali or Miami, latinos in NY historically have been puerto ricans and dominicans (dominicans mostly black even if they on that :mjpls:) n they been sharin with us the same hoods foreva... From the Bronx to harlem to east NY, the same hip hop culture...

this not like cali where mexicans n blacks r segregated n hate each other

it does and it doesn't. Feel free to educate me otherwise. Grandmaster Caz gave an interview a year or so ago talking about how most Hispanics weren't fukkin with rap music in the beginning and were on the same racist shyt as your typical cac. It was basically a tiny percentage of Ricans that were there putting in work. And I imagine that as shyt became more mainstream, the other Ricans and brown folk jumped on the wagon.
