He texted Nas to do a concept EP about Nas’ dead friend whom he never even met. He’s lucky the only thing Nas did was not respond. Lol

:patrice:

Okay, This adds context. Nas straight up not even answering Lupe’s text after they seemed to have good convo together in that studio is one thing.

But…much love to Lupe but that was an asinine ass idea and I could see Nas taking that personally. Especially after the Gawd allowed the Breh time to build for a bit like he did.

Lupe doesn’t understand how weird he can be. Lol. I think that’s the issue. He’s so pretentious that he thinks everything he thinks in his head is a good idea. Like bro. Why would u even ask Nas something like that? He was showing Lupe mad love around this time too. Then the nikka turns around and does some shyt like that.

Nas has always showed Lupe mad love and respect. Lu was on some bullshyt with that request but I don’t think he meant any harm and I don’t think Nas took it as such. Nas is known for being to himself and being introverted. Just because they chopped it up in the studio doesn’t mean Nas owes Lupe a conversation beyond that. AND people act like doing ENTIRE PROJECTS with other artists is such a great and genius idea just because we’re fans. But A LOT goes into collab projects and just because Nas and Lupe are top tier lyricists doesn’t mean an album’s worth of material from the two would be great or even good. Historically speaking Nas’s collab projects (Distant Relatives, The Hit-Boy series) have been thematic MUSICALLY rather than lyrically. Lupe seems to have left behind a lot of the MUSICALITY of his earlier projects. He’s obsessed with bars. All he cares about is Bars. He’d get on an album with Nas and try to bar the fukk out of it, which I don’t believe interests Nas as much at this point in his career. Nas’s bars are in service to the MESSAGE he’s trying to convey, and the music is what moves and inspires him to stick to a theme.

Lupe and Nas would probably be great on a SONG together. An ALBUM?!? I’m not convinced. And apparently neither is Nas

Nas and loop in my top 7

but if esco aint reply... his concerned is getting torched by wasalu.

.
I'm sure Nas can't sleep at night, worrying about trying to follow up to a verse from Lupe where he raps from the perspective of a tomato trying to avoid pesticides before being plucked by an illegal immigrant and ending up on the plate of a Wall Street executive.

a Nas and Lupe collabo album in 2022 would be insane

would never happen tho

:mjcry:
Lupe would be on some self sabotaging shyt.
:lupe:

Lupe: Oh we really can get Hit-Boy to produce the whole project? And we gonna drop it this year?
Nas: Yeah, Hit is amazing, chemistry is crazy once we lock in, shouldn't be a problem
Lupe: :sadcam:

Then he'd ghost the project and go back to releasing loosies on Youtube and arguing with his fans for wanting him to follow through on projects he floated out there since he released The Cool

Bruh I don’t care if he didn’t mean harm. I’m pretty sure he DIDNT mean harm but that don’t make it less weird. Nas rather than saying something rude decided not to even respond to that bullshyt. Lol

It’s funny about a month ago Lupe made an IG post presumably once and for all addressing all of those projects (what’s coming out when, what’s coming out Never :mjlol:).

I get where artists come from but they gotta get where fans come from when they get consistently hyped up. I should know as a Brotha Lynch fan…still waiting on Season of the Siccness 2 :lolbron: Nonetheless, I kinda like artists announcing and releasing projects out of nowhere instead of hyping up some shyt that’s repeatedly getting pushed back (or not even actually being worked on).
