Actually, aside from the fact that this was one of those wars in which nobody dies, it was actually perfectly mediocre. Nothing approaching the worst of Bleach, for instance.

We're not pissed at it being Obito, we're pissed at the fact that Tobi being Obito raises plot holes that have ZERO hope of being repaired in a satisfactory manner in line with the internal logic of the manga.

Yup, I still like the manga I'm still gonna finish it all the way to the end but I'm not making anymore excuses for it at this point; from that letdown of a fight between Sage Kabuto, Itachi, and Sasuske, to Oro being trapped in an eternal genjutsu but somehow all logic is thrown out the windows and some stem cells ressurrected him even though technically his mind should still be trapped, or the fact that at least 20chapters ago the rookie 9 were on their way to back up Uzi yet........where are they, Sas lame reason he still wants to attack the village,etc etc. it's still a good manga with all the inconsistency and halts in story progression, but I for sure ain't making excuses for it no more. It could be a lot worse though it could be Bleach

Many things happen in manga that look like plot holes at first that writers usually fill later on...you know like flashbacks and shyt. you ol' jump to conclusions ass nikkas on here. Like JMurder said, there is still plenty of shyt yet to be explained.

Plotholes? Timeline? Give Kishi a chance to explain it. We don't even know what happened to homie after he got crushed by the rock.

Besides, in terms of dramatic potential, Obito was the best choice. Who would've been better?

Izuna? Nobody even knows him besides Madara and he has nothing to do with anything.

Shisui? He's dead and doesn't have much to do with anyone other than Itachi.

Kagami? Random fodder that has nothing to do with anything.

Evil future Sasuke? New character? C'mon son.


Having Tobi be Obito sets up the parallel to Naruto nicely (Tobi is Naruto gone wrong) and it has dramatic potential since Kakashi and Gai knew him. Plus it'll be interesting to see how someone who was just like Naruto ended up hating the world and trying to end it. Plus I'm curious as to how he met Madara. I suspect Madara saved Obito and made him his disciple, but we'll see.

If you think about it, Kishi likes to set up most villains as parallels to Naruto. What he could've ended up like if things were just a little bit different.


First, there's Sasuke. He's Naruto's parallel in the sense of being an orphan and not having a family at all. Sasuke cares about nothing but revenge, first on Itachi, then on the elders, and now on Konoha, for what happened to his clan. Naruto started out hating the village too, so he could've ended up the same way. Sasuke is what Naruto could've become if he let revenge consume him.

Then, there's Gaara. He's Naruto's parallel in the sense that he also had a tailed beast inside him, and was isolated/treated horribly by his village because of it. Dude had no one that cared about him. He ended up hating everybody and becoming a serial killer, though he reformed later. Gaara is what Naruto could've become if he became consumed by hatred and failed to find anyone that cared about him.

Then we have Nagato/Pain. He's Naruto's parallel in the sense that they're both students of Jiraiya, both members of the Uzumaki Clan, and both wanted to bring peace to the world. Nagato is what Naruto could've become if he lost his faith in people and gave up on the idea of there ever being true peace.

Looks like Tobi/Obito will be Naruto's final parallel. It's hard to say exactly what it'll be, but it seems like Obito is what Naruto would be like if he completely gave up on his hopes and dreams, and on the world in general. Tobi considers the entire world worthless and wants to create a dream world.
