Edit: OK, from what I can tell, this is what happened...

After Obito got stabbed, he felt himself dying so he teleported on top of the Juubi so he could absorb it (and become the Jinchuuriki) before he died. Madara saw this and tried to stop him by forcing him to use Rinne Tensei. It would've worked, except Minato interfered and broke Madara's control of Obito. After that happened Obito continued on with his plan and absorbed the Juubi.

So basically, Minato screwed Madara over but ended up helping Obito. Ironically enough.

Im not sure how exactly Obito was able to seal the ten tails withi himself, while being half dead and manipulated by Madara's jutsu....doesnt make a lot of sense. It sould alos seem that his sharingo was destoryed.....not though.
