The only thing he has in common with Donald Trump as a candidate is that he's an anti-establishment populist.
Donald Trump, for all the shyt he talked, fits right in with the agenda of the GOP writ large. That's why they had no problem with him taking the nomination, even moreso that he won. With Trump in office all the right wing wants to do, they can still do.

With Bernie, he represents an existential threat to the neoliberal BULLshyt Americans have been fed upwards of 40 years. That's why they're mad.
GOP don't want anyone like that coming close to power either.
