Internet was the best thing ever invented to promote propaganda. Can study a community of people, see the level of discussion, and add in your two cents of misinformation into the mix.
The less discerning the group is about examining facts and critical thinking, the easier it is to inject nonsense into the mix. The authority figures that are most often cited gives you an indication of what time the group is on. The past and current coli-father figures here paints many here as easy marks, to keep it a buck.
