Gucci Mane Beat in Jail, Offices raided by SWAT | Rap Basement
Yesterday, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was attacked and beaten in jail by a convicted murderer who his lawyer said “had it out for him.” Meanwhile, his Big Cat Records office was swarmed by the SWAT team after a bogus gun report was called into the police.
Gucci aka Radric Davis is in isolation for his own protection today after he was beaten in jail yesterday by another inmate who is in jail for murder. Mane sustained bruises and cuts to his face and his tooth was knocked out after he was attacked with what his attorney believes was either a rock or piece of hard soap.
“I visited Mane in jail yesterday after someone beat him upside his face,” his attorney, Dennis Scheib told SOHH.com. “His tooth was knocked out and his face was swollen. He got hit 5 or 6 times in the face by something hard.”

Mane’s attacker is now in solitary confinement. Scheib tells SOHH.com that Gucci has no idea why the man attacked him, but that a threatening note had been left for him in his cell that said, “Gucci your dead.” Schieb is currently trying to get him into a safer prison while he awaits his October 4th trial date.
Gucci has been locked up in Fulton County jail while awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting promoter Tyrone Tucker with a pool cue in June. Gucci is charged with aggravated assault and was denied bail in mid-August. Scheib maintains that his client was not involved in the fight and that the promoter stopped by the Big Cat’s office, got into an altercation with the label’s employees, and was injured in the process.
Meanwhile, following a bogus report that a person with a gun might be inside Gucci Mane’s Big Cat Records headquarters, Atlanta police and a SWAT team rushed on the office located at Bishop Street in northwest Atlanta. Reports say police arrived on the scene around 2:20 p.m. after they got a call from a neighbor who said he overheard gun talk at the location.
“The got a little rowdy at the offices,” Scheib explained to SOHH.com. “The cops surrounded the offices… they totally overreacted.”
After searching the premises, no one was found with a fire arm and no arrests were made. Just last month, police raided the same offices apparently looking for evidence pertaining to the June assault of Tyrone Tucker.
At the time of the alleged assault, Gucci was free on bond while awaiting his trial for murder. The rapper is accused of shooting and killing Henry Clark III back on May 10th, 2005. Three days later, Clark’s body was discovered in the woods nearby an Atlanta middle school. Gucci was arrested in July on his way to perform at Miami’s Club Wharehouse. The rapper contends he shot Clark in self-defense. Clark aka Pookie Loc of Macon, Georgia’s Loccish Lifestyle rap group, was signed to Young Jeezy’s CTE (Corporate Thugz Entertainment). Word is the altercation took place due to an on going feud between Gucci and Jeezy. This case has been delayed until October, while awaiting a new investigation.
