He could do it he just chooses not to. He was bad in that Coen brothers movie with Damon Wayans.
Tom Hanks has the chops to pull it off.....and pull it off well.

cause I would never see him as a villainesque guy
like in training day Denzel is obviously supposed to be a bad guy but he played it with his denzelisms so I don't really hate him or see him as a bad guy
