They released the unaired episodes online. They never explain HOW he was going back in time, but in the end they resolved the story and he broke out of the time loop. It's worth watching. I think the show got hate just because people were frustrated waiting for Lost to come back.
EDIT:
Looks like IMDB has links to all 12 episodes, including the unaired ones. I just watched the "previously on..." scenes from the Finale, and I was surprised to see Mike from Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul plus a lot of other familiar TV actors.

I was going to post this. The last season of Stargate Universe was turning into the best version of Stargate (better than the movie, SG1, Atlantis) IMO. Plus better than the last season of Battlestar Galactica.
Forgot all about Blade! THIS is the real answer. I forgot this show even existed, but now that I'm thinking about it its probably my favorite "superhero" show of all time. The vampire "politics" on the show is what put it over the top, they went into a lot more detail about the different vampire Houses than the movies.
Instead of someone like Dracula, the "big bad" and head of all the vampire factions was a little girl:
Anyway, talking about politics in a fictional world reminded me of the show
