the first ever college player i ever stanned growing up

I actually met this dude. He came through a restuarant I worked at with some of his teammates from some Indoor Football League team they played for. They were based in St. Louis if I can remember correctly. He actually was asking me about trying out for their team (I am a pretty big guy, and back then I was pretty muscular). This was right before I left for college, and I already had a scholarship, so I respectfully declined.

Damn I felt sorry for Jerry Colquitt when he got hurt in that UCLA game. I think it was the first game of the year and dude was like a 5th or 6th year senior. Waited his turn behin Heath Shuler, then got hurt again and Peyton Manning came through and took his place as a true frosh.
