Right? I don't know how my mind made this up when I was 12, but I swore Josh took the heat for Jason because Jason would have got more time. This fukked up Josh's head, and the reason Jason felt obligated to never turn his back on his brother. On some "I did this family the solid when I was only 8" type of shyt. That honestly would have completed the story and explained everything. And I mean they could have showed it at the end where Josh grabs the smoking gun out of Jason's, then being led into a police car - roll credits. This would totally explain why both brothers were mentally fukked.

he was in and out of jail....jason said that when he picked him up...basically saying he was lucky moms was letting him back in the house THIS time....if it was about the pops why would mom have beef?

Obviously this is in the future he would have done minimal time for what happend with Mad Dog, but that would have been the beginning of a cycle for him that he couldn't escape. That's why the mom always let him back, and Jason always had his back. He initially bit the bullet for Jason because Jason could have got a lot more time as an older juvenile.

Alot of those 90’s black hood movies didn’t make a lot of sense upon deeper inspection of the plot but they were so well acted by hungry young talent we gave them a pass.

Jason’s Lyric is a great example of this. The entire cast acted they’re ASSES off and gave that film so much heart and soul

Whole cast? Allen Payne is one of the worst actors who has managed to stay employed i have ever seen. He was bad back then and is still bad today as long as he's been acting. I have no idea how he got that leading role when there were so many other talented brothers doing their thing back then . Every single straight to Tubi movie has at least one actor better than Allen Payne in it. Every single one

But I only watch this movie for Jada to be honest lol. She's never looked better except in Inkwell

I read Will Smith's bio. He seems to think it was hilarious that he synced up Jason's Lyric on his TV so that the sex scene was playing when his grandmother came to his house and met Jada for the first time.
