In my mind...all music is just arrangement.
Some music is based on playing instruments, yes, but there are only so many sounds that a guitar can make. So its about how you arrange the sounds that the guitar makes. It's the same idea with traditional boom bap hip hop sampling. You take sounds from a few different records, maybe you modify them, maybe you don't. You put them together in a way that sounds good.

It's the same idea with these trap producers who I understood were using programs with preset sounds. They take the sounds and put them together in a way that sounds good (to them at least )

True but this convo started off with me just saying the type if stuff people use as arguing points when deciding which gen had to work harder

Some say older guys had it harder cuz they had to work with less equipment, on the flipside people say all they do is chop a sample and add a drum loop to it

Some say newer guys have it harder because it isn't as sample heavy so they have to come up with more, on the flipside the technology we have makes it way easier to do that
