Myths Used to Dismiss Black Women

I went to a gas station this morning before work.
And I walked inside to buy a gatoraid.

The clerk, who was Black and female, was not behind the counter.
She was doing something in one of aisles.

She saw me walk in.
She saw me grab a gatorade.
She saw me waiting at the register.......patiently waiting for her to come do her job.

We made eye contact.
She rolled her eyes.
I chuckled.
She made her way to the register.
No good morning. Just an ugly scowl on her face.

Me: "Good morning."
Her: "That'll be $1.65."


But, no. I don't believe in that bad attitude myth at all.

Why are you attributing her attitude to her being a Black woman? It very well could be attributed to the fact that she wasn't raised properly or that she is miserable because she works at a gas station and her employers did not train her properly in customer service....

Why generalize all Black

You do not know all the black women in the world. In addition to this, you do not know every Ming yee. I've seen numerous stories about black men not raising their kids and going to jail for drugs, but I would never assume this about every black male. Or should I ?

Exactly. These women are grown adults and should know better. But some how men are supposed to "correct" these idiots? Nah, no thanks. Not my job or anyone else's.

And I cant speak on if it happens more or less with educated white or asian women. I havent a clue and dont care enough to make the comparison one way or the other.

Anyway, Ill express more interest in this topic when I see this OP make the thread about Myths used to dismiss black men.

Meh, people generalize black men all the time on here. Were constantly taken to task over something that one or a handful of black men did. Maybe we'll be more concerned when I see the black men generalizations come to an end on here. Until then I just see it as crocodile tears.
