Same here. I had to walk next to a busy road to school starting at age 5. Through snow storms and all types of shyt. Thinking back, I can't believe all the crazy shyt we did unsupervised and how lucky I was not to get snatched or run over or some shyt.

i recall crazy stuff happening in the streets before i went to middle school so i would have to say to an extent. but this was stuff in the neighborhood like my apartment's garage, our friends apartment across the street, the elementary school i went to which was like 2 blocks away, etc. i used to walk to a school further away so i guess i was used to making it that far out lol.

Everyone knew everyone. Even if you’re an introvert back thing, you’re still going to be outside. It just seemed like there were less weirdos growing up.
