So when people question Lebron it's called "hating"? You Lebron enthusiasts are pathetic and super defensive. Lebron is a great player on offense and defense, IMO the best perimeter defender but if someone feels like him shutting down Rose is a myth, that doesn't make him a hater. Truthfully you dudes act like bytches.:comeon:

I know right? I've yet to hear one rebuttal that didn't involve :umad: or some variation of it...

I thought everyone knew this. Lebron is an all time great help defender but an overrated man one, people make it seem like he's unstoppable.

Part of the reason he got torched by jet In the finals was because the d couldn't collapse on him like they did rose, the Mavs actually had shooters so Lebron had to play Terry one on one and got exposed.

Basically...

Breh i'm a kobe stan but i know greatness when i see it.

And D.Rose opinion >>>>>>>>>>> random poster on the internet :manny:

I don't doubt that Lebron is a great defender. People are just confusing team defense with being a shutdown defender. Stats tell you Rose had 27 on 46%, 3ast & 7rebs. Actually watching that CHI-CLE series tells you Rose got to the rim at will, slicing up Cleveland's back court with no one even trying to contest, including Lebron, who's supposed to be a "shut down" defender.

Stats tell you Rose had 23 on 35%, 4ast & 6rebs next year. Actually watching that CHI-MIA series should tell you that even when Rose got past Lebron............Wade, Bosh & Haslem were waiting :wow:

That's all I'm saying :manny:

It's funny how peoples level of perspective and understanding of hyperbole vary based upon who the player is. Did Bron literally shut Rose down for 48 minutes for an entire series? No. Did Bron give Rose problems at certain times in the fourth quarter? Yes. Can Bron guard everybody from the best PGs to the best Cs and shut them down? No. Can Bron be effective in spurts against any of the 5 positions? Yes. Do all great players get hyped up and have their abilities and accomplishments exaggerated? Yes. I mean seriously what player great player doesn't have myths attached to them that have varying levels of veracity? Mike, Kobe, Magic etc. all have myths attached to thier names we gonna break them all the way down too or we just gonna let those ride because we like them? :leon:

It doesnt have to be one extreme or the other.

Take the running back position for example:

The basic job of an rb is to run the rock effectively. He also needs to pick up the blitz/block assignments, and catch the ball out of the back field.

But when that rb can also line up as a wideout/slot and still be effective, it shows versatility.
When he can catch a pitch and have the awareness and skill to pass it to a receiver, it shows more versatility.

That doesnt mean hes an elite receiver/passer and can do it on EVERY play, but hes talented and smart enough to run routes and make plays with his arm IF called upon

Brons defense on Rose was very good, but the team defence/scheme contributed as well.

Bron guarding 1-5 is really just another way of saying hes a versatile defender, not that he can shut down any position.

Rose himself would tell you that nobody nba the NBA can defend him better :manny:

Mo Williams and Anthony Parker were shytty defender that let Rondo look like Magic Johnson in the round after that Bulls series.

LeBron couldn't guard 4 or 5 guys at once. Dude was on Deng for most of the series.

Over a long game, Rose will get a few steps on Bron and get his. Nobody can 'stop' a player like Rose and I agree it's lazy analysis. The Heat as a whole play suffocating defense and it's a team thing.

However, late in the game, with LeBron locked in on for a few possessions and not guarding him all game, he definetely makes things very difficult for Rose, and that's where people stretched it to say he 'stopped' him.
