I be telling cats, when unpredictable was out, mystical was arguably the most popular MC in the game on the national tip.

but it falls on def ears cuz a lot of people weren't exposed to that. the internet was poppin back then, but if it was poppin like it is now, mystikal's legend would've been like that of a Gucci mane but greater.

instead, people just look at mystikal as like an underrated fan favorite. when I did the top 10 rappers of 98 thread, less than a handful of people even mentioned him.

man nikkaz love him he wasn't underrated he just couldn't stop being a damn rapist.

I was even happy when he got his second wind with Mark Ronson and them doing some funky, seemed impossible for him to come back again but I'll be damned if he didn't just to catch another rape charge.

I wanted the project with him and Mannie Fresh too.

cash money ruined all of that.
he just now caught this rape charge last year. the mark ronson thing was YEARS ago. cash money sat on his contract.
and they only signed him so they could ice the project with mannie fresh & keep mannie out the game.​

I said from jump, the comeback was dead as soon as he signed with cash money. he prolly needed that check tho.

but youre right. he was too loved to be considered underrated in real-time, but he got boxed out of the history books.​

DEFINITELY one of my faves since Mind of Mystikal dropped.

I remember his first video dropped and the scene with him practicing mean mugging the mirror

dude one of the few southern artists I can legit say was damn near a legend off his first single. We had never heard no shyt like that.



fast forward, I remember when he made waves off his stage show on some late night show with the live band and the legit white stars on stage wtih him
