I've been a fan of mystikal before he hit the mainstream. He was a guest on Rolonda watts show in early 1995 as a local rapper that a female wanted to have a date with. Then later in 95 his debut album was restructured and released on Jive. This was all before signing to No Limit a couple years later. I just stopped fukking with him after that rape shyt. I can't respect that.

some artists are terrible people in real life, Mystikal repeatedly choosing to be a rapist is abhorrent as fukk. fukk him for that, as a person I hope he grows eventually and is able to confront his demons and the horrible shyt he's done in life and try to make up for it. Maybe another long sit down in jail might give him that opportunity to reflect, but based on the last time seems like he might be a unrepentant scumbag
It does taint the music, but to be honest a lot of his music was kinda violent angry scumbag wild out shyt from the start, so in that vein it cant even taint it all that much. It still goes hard as fukk, his delivery and cadence and presence were monstrous and talented and I still love the shyt. I'd still look forward to a Mystikal project if they released something or leaked some his unreleased stuff.
I wished he'd been able to have more of that resurgence with Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars, he shoulda at least done another song in that vein. Or the collab project with Mannie Fresh, or the album on Cash Money. I'm guessing he must have signed the wrong deal or something, because to not release anything besides some singles and guest appearances over that length of time is a shame
