yeah thats usually how it works with tv shows. i tried watching sons of anarchy but couldnt get past episode 3
Season 4 of SOA is GOAT :wow:

Especially from like the 5th episode to the end.

Do you like the GTA video games? Think of SOA like a TV Show version of those games and it makes the show that's much more enjoyable IMO.

I too originally threw SOA in the bushes in Season 1 but then someone said every episode was like a GTA mission then it had me like :ohhh: and I re watched it, I'm up to Season 5 now.

Right...because someone who went to stanford and got an MBA from Wharton certainly can't synthesize a tv show :rudy:

Why do you think season 1 is wack? I think Sopranos is the type of show where you get the most out of it if you're into analyzing characters, trying to figure out why they do the shyt they do or trying to figure out what makes them tick. You said you like character development so it should be right up your alley. But its season 1 so you're still pretty much learning who the characters are at this point :ld: its less simply watching them develop but more trying to figure why they developed like that.

Pretty much the two reasons I know people give for not liking Sopranos is they came in expecting Goodfellas and there's not enough action for that. Or they hate the whole psychology vibe. So how you feel about the scenes where Tony's talking to Melfi? If you hate those scenes I'd say drop the show.

SOA = Sons of Anarchy, I wasn't talking about the Sopranos. Entirely different show about a Motorcycle Club.

I remember watching Season 1 and liking it in a generic sense, but not really thinking is was something special at that point. By the time you learn all of the characters and get the feel of the show, I think it will start to change for you. I remember Seasons 3, 4, & 5 being Piff though. Season 6 Part 1 is utter trash. A few try hard & fail psychoanalytical episodes along the way.

that's the most interesting part, but my issue is outside of those two (tony melfie), i literally have no interest or attachment to the other characters....well meadow could be interesting down the line, but the rest of the crew is :snooze: his wife and mother are  to me

Even if tony's your only interest you should be good. my favorite is christopher but he doesnt get too interesting until next season, i think.

This. Sopranos is a thinking mans show.

:dead: Of all the shows to get elitist about, the fukking "Sopranos"? You don't need to be smart or "a thinking man" to get the show, and this is coming from someone who thinks it's arguably the greatest show EVER.
