My friend quit his 75K job, with matched 401K, Pension and Free Medical, to join Primerica a few years ago. :snoop:

Needless to say, he's still selling that Primerica stuff, trying to recruit people on facebook... I just hit him with the :childplease: when he tried to get me to go to one of his meetings.

Word.

Some insurance companies do this as well. I was young and ambitious, about to graduate from college, updated my resume and got an interview with Aflac. Now, I'm thinking, wow that was fast, check out the company because I've seen the commercials (who hasn't) then I go to the interview and it's a group interview. Much like a lot of these pyramid schemes, they try to sell you on the rewards and the trips you can qualify for. But they wanted you to pay for the insurance license training and the test... oh and after you did all that they give you a partial reimbursement. But the real shady shyt that I peeped was how they were on some, "You shouldn't sell a product or service that you don't have yourself"... now that sounds good, but a lot of people were broke looking for a job... it wasn't like these people were getting paid a salary or hourly, so they essentially wanted broke people to sign up for some insurance policies off the jump and I'm guessing the head of the office got a cut of all of those plans

:snoop:

I swear selling insurance can be a straight up struggle experience. :smh:

The office I was at eventually wanted people to pay for the office space. Wanted people to voluntarily come in (it's commission based) and cold call like they're at a 9-5. I never did that shyt, and after a few months of seeing how the job worked I knew it wasn't for me

:whew: They almost got me too, twice. Luckily I slept on not paying for those Insurance license fees .

Some people are good at MLM. He might be making more at this gig than at his last one. You never know.

Read this!

the bolded.

I read so many things about these companies and the fine print they use to get over on people.

I've been looking into wake up now because of this thread and veema...this shyt is SAD!!!!!

And then I found this graph with regards to World Ventures

wv485.png

So only 15% of people might make $40,000 a year doing this? SMH
it's even worse than that. 85% are in the category of "active rep" in which earnings range from $40,000 to $20 with the median at $20. This means well over half of that 85% only make $20. The MEDIAN is $20, that $40k is an outlier, chances are less than 5% out of that 85 even sees $40k

had to repost my LIMA post from the other MLM thread

a girl sent this rather cryptic txt yesterday asking if I was interested in alleviating my college debt and if so I might be interested in this conference call that evening. I humor her and say ok I'll listen and join in. I mute my phone and leave it on speaker while I'm watching some good soccer. this nikka comes on there talking about peddling some damn seaweed and how we got to capitalize on this chance :mjlol:. he says he knows that seaweed isn't the sexiest product but "hey, look at Arm & Hammer, you think they should have gave up with baking soda?" :beli:. he kept making little corny jokes and chuckling to himself like Eddie Murphy and made sure to throw stuff like "be your own boss", "control your money", "get in on the ground floor". he said if we wanna get in, goto some website I've already forgotten and check it out.

as I'm typing this post I'm starting to think maybe he was actually a recording because while he does his whole spiel everyone was muted except him until the end. everyone then was unmuted and asked to ask any questions.............complete silence which means everybody either already hung up or are laughing at this foolishness too hard to ask anything (I know I was with my phone on mute, nikka was tryna get me to sell seaweed!!!) :russ:. he got off the line with the quickness like "ok nobody wants this opportunity? alright then...." and clicks off. now the original girl I know comes on says two sentences basically only saying "you gotta do this" and it disconnects.

too long didn't read???
sat through a MLM conference call.
nikka was selling seaweed.........

My uncle talked to me about Primerica a while back like it was the best thing since sliced bread. Even offered to pay for the classes and all with some story this CAC gave him about not working again. He told me that by the end of that same year he was going to be a millionaire off of that stuff.

My boy tried to get a job with Primerica SMH. He was like yeah man they heavy into recruiting and not really sales, and they wanted me to pay for training. I told him to :camby: them and keep it pushing. I told him it's tough enough to sell insurance with the big companies (i've done it not pretty :sadcam:) I told him either run his own business or find something else.

Me and my boy convinced him not to go further close one brehs :whew:

intelligence and logic can be suspended if the pitch is effective enough. there's a reason companies spend billions of dollars in advertising annually.

don't you want to be in 5 star hotels and have sho-furs

:lolbron::troll:

He was mentioned in the Juelz thread. He has a record for assault and trespassing too.

Ballin in that hotel, yet the room is so small, and he has to share with another guy. :mjlol:
