But this time the repair keeps timing out and i get an error and it stops


What do i do?

back it up on a pc
completely format the drive as new
copy back the contents?

Is this a mechanical HD drive?

If so it's probably dead unfortunately, stuff can be recovered.

A data recovery place may only charge you around $200 to recover as much as they can
