Yep they aren't going anywhere. Then you factor in the Sixers and Bucks who will run the east in a few years and the Celtics who could if they maximize the Nets picks

Meanwhile in 3 years when those teams are on the come up and a 37 year old Melo is still hogging shots trying to get the Knicks the 8th seed maybe these fans will realize how the win now approach was garbage

To be honest one more year of this and yeah I think K.P's done. Not done like he'll get pissed, he won't he's too chill for that. Done as in I don't think he'll reach his potential.....the first 3 years are when you get you're moves and figured out your spots on the court. A potential franchise guy just chilliing in the corner? Nah...not with it. If next year plays out like this I don't see him ever developing to do more than what he's doing now. They need to have him like @Malta says on the Embiid plan where he get's to do whatever he wants and you just take your chances on his talent and intelligence to make the right play more than not. You don't try to fit him into this binary box like they trying to do with him. Give that nicca some freedom.

I remember the Pacers threw Danny Granger in the bushes the second it looked like Paul George was going to be an all-star level player. This should be Kristaps team, he should be having the growing pains of failing on his own, not being reduced to a stand in the corner and wait, or screen and wait. On a night Jokic has 35/12 it's a shocking contrast how the Knicks aren't putting their franchise talent in the best position to succeed. I'd bench Melo, fukk that, if I were GM and my team was gonna lose like this it's going to be a purely developmental year where my young guys play, like Philly.

It's so sad watching K.P legit relegated to a screener/cleanup big. I don't even know what's his spots are on the court because he doesn't do anything but set screens or chill in the corner.
