Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
:wow:

We doing that Great War tank, huh?

1914-1918

So, 2017-2021 The Great Knicks Tank:myman:

See y'all next decade, y'all:ahh:

You've been trying to compete the last few years, how has that turned out for you? On the flipside, the Sixers have been tanking and are clearly about to turn the corner, the last time they made the playoffs was 2012, the last time the Knicks made it was 2013.

The Knicks already have the cornerstone of their franchise, which is what the Sixers were trying to find. You just need to find the second piece to put with Kristaps, the Knicks need to miss the playoffs this year and get one of those PGs to make sure that they do not sign Rose long term.

So if KP needs to be at the 5 should the knicks look for vet PF or try to develop one

Try and develop one, the FA market for PFs this year is pretty :ld: and Kristaps wont be ready to play C for a few more years.

This draft is pretty weak as far as PFs go though, but looking at the Knicks recent history of taking international players, Mathias Lessort in the 2nd round would be a good project.

Spread Love - The Player Way
the tank conversation has been done over and over
i'd rather see promising young talent take their bumps and losses while developing then watch us to be held into mediocrity with melo being here.
winning 35 games :hula: or winning 20-25 while developing talent to take us into the future while looking for more prospective talent in the draft
with how the cba is...getting controllable talent is imperative to competing down the line year in and year out.
that's my take. yes i want KP to get some playoff experience....but to be in purgatory...it sucks. i'd rather the team go to hell to find heaven :wow:

Carmelo's contract is the 60 million dollar anchor.

The last real chance the Knicks have to move him and not take trash back is this FA where teams would have cap room to just absorb him. There is also the possibilities of sign and trades since teams are likely going to give out a few Max contracts just to hit the salary floor.

I mean if Melo is willing to waive the NTC a trade could happen whenever it's just this FA is the last time it would be a good idea for the Knicks to really see if he wants to go. Also no one can blame him after 4 years of shytty teams. Both sides need to go their separate ways.

The only guy I could see the Clips potentially parting ways with his Blake(and even that's a stretch imo). He's not going to agree to go anywhere else...and there's no room for him in Cleveland.

You never know with a player of his Caliber. Last season would you believe Wade would leave Miami? And then go to the bulls to play with Rondo and Butler?

I actually think the Wiz and would be the best fit for his career/work life balance. But who knows? Especially if the Knicks let him know he has no chance of being paid big again. In a situation like that it makes more sense for him to take a trade so a team could pay him more based on them having his Bird rights.

Melo fukked either way. He's a few years too late for the clips they peaked when they choked the 3-1 lead

Again...

I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.

Are you telling me that the Sixers are done tanking?

Is the product that we will be seeing moving forward going to be young talent being developed?

So far, I gather Tanking is a 3 phase process...

Phase 1 - Push forward as uncompetitive a team as you can to tank in the standings to ensure being in the lottery. Rinse and Repeat*

Phase 2 - Transition from intentionally trying to tank and develop your young talent. Added benefit, they'll be fun to watch and not good enough so more picks.

Phase 3 - As talent develops into substantial pieces, continue the build and you should hopefully have superstar talent, role players and ready to work towards being a contender.

Am I right about this?

Yall see me joke on yall because most of the tank crowd can't even articulate 3 sentences explaining exactly how, who or what tanking is.

Someone actually explain it fully and then we can have honest talk about it.

So, would you say the Sixers are done phase 1?

Wizards? Why?

They have Otto Porter who is playing well and is one of the main catalyst in turning their year around.

Melo has no interest in playing in the D.C./Baltimore area and he's never hinted on it even though he was partly raised there. NY is best for his lifestyle and branding.

Only team that makes sense is the Clippers.

No but Wade was also a FA. Still 2 years after this one before Melo is.

Tanking is the process by which you lose to increase your chances in the lottery, which gives you a better chance of landing a franchise player. Like the guy you got from Latvia, that was the result of losing the right way :mjpls: The entire point of tanking is to find the franchise player, some teams get lucky and find it outside the lottery (Bucks) but that is a rarity, and they found his running mate (Jabari) by tanking up a storm.

Are the Sixers done tanking? If Embiid is healthy and they draft well this year it's going to prevent them from getting high lottery picks, so yeah, this is probably their last year of getting top 5 picks. The Sixers have been in phase 2 all year, if they had played Embiid on back to backs or just said fukk it to his minutes restriction they'd be fighting for the 8th seed right now. But, what's the rush? This is a development year, if you can't sell fans on competing on a title now you sell them on player development and hope of the future, which is what the Sixers are doing now, have you seen how live their games have been this year?

You're not competing for a title, so the focus should shift to at least finding a secondary player that you can pair with Kristaps that can grow with him. That is the point of tanking, it's why the Pelicans are so garbage right now, they went straight into "We gotta compete" mode rather than letting nature take it's course and being bad while Davis developed.
