I was flipping back and forth from this to the UFC, so no hard body analysis today. This is still the stage in the season where even in a loss you're looking for progression. There's clear progression in the offense, but it's all coming from starters getting acclimated to each other. The bench is still lacking punch. The defense isn't showing any consistency to call progression. The bench issues, I'm not positive there's a quick solution; either young cats grow and step up or it would take a good trade to get the bench some help. The defense, until there's at least progression, you can't help but be skeptical about improvement. That the Knicks were going basket for basket with a quality team like the Raptors for three quarters is nice, but you see a great team step up in the fourth quarter where the mediocre ones don't have an extra gear...we need to find an extra gear or it's gonna hard to argue with anyone who says we're better off tanking for this amazing draft class.
The places that need improvement are obvious. But they also aren't spots to just assume improvement when so little progress has been made thus far.
