I knew it was Harvey before I clicked. Dude will always find a negative spin on the Knicks regardless of result.

It's a weird comparison. Conley doesn't have the explosiveness or scoring ability that Rose has and Rose doesn't have the defensive presence or playmaking acuity of Conley. Basically the writer is saying "Rose would be wise to completely change his game into something it's never really been before" as if that's as simple as flipping a switch. But if you remove the Conley comparison, the important ideas are at least solid. Rose can afford to pick his spots a lot more with this unit and he doesn't have to overdo the playmaking as long as Noah and Melo are moving the ball (12 assists combined against the Grizzlies, that takes a load off for Rose).
